Name-Based Case Searches
To search Union County Superior Court by party name, start at the Georgia Courts E-Access directory. Pick Union Superior there. Follow its PeachCourt route. An account is required. The official help pages say you log in, choose the county and court, then search by case number or party name. They do not spell out wildcard rules, date filters, or result limits for Union. So do not count on those controls.
- Identify the court from the citation, pleading, notice, or prior docket entry.
- For Superior Court, open Georgia E-Access, route to PeachCourt, and sign in. For a Probate or county traffic matter, use Georgia Probate Records instead.
- Select Union as the county and Union Superior as the court before entering a party name.
- Compare the case number, court, case type, and party role before opening a result. A common-name match alone is not identification.
- Save the exact case number and entry date, then contact the proper clerk if an official copy or certification is needed.

Union Superior Routes to PeachCourt
Georgia's official provider directory sends Union County Superior Court users to PeachCourt. It notes that an account is required. That distinction matters. PeachCourt is a provider for eAccess and e-filing, not the official custodian. So a provider download is not automatically a certified clerk copy. Judy Odom, Clerk of Superior Court, keeps responsibility for Superior Court filings and records. That covers both civil and criminal matters. The state E-Access directory shows this provider-routing layer plainly, rather than one universal public index.

This route covers Union Superior cases only. Probate estates and county Probate traffic belong in Georgia Probate Records, Blairsville city-limit citations belong with Municipal Court, and federal filings belong in PACER.
Case Number Searches
An exact Union County case number is usually the strongest search key. It sidesteps common-name confusion. PeachCourt help confirms a case-number route. No safe live Union record or published local numbering pattern backs up any template, though. Never invent a format like YYYY-XX-##### and assume Union uses it. Type the identifier exactly as printed, letters, year segments, punctuation, and leading zeros included.
Traffic systems can show a case number and a citation number at once. Keep them separate. An estate may carry one identifier. A Superior civil filing, a criminal case, a traffic citation, and a federal case may each carry another. If the exact number returns nothing, confirm the issuing court. Then ask its clerk whether the case was indexed, transferred, restricted, or given a different local number.
Union County Account Gate
PeachCourt is no anonymous index. Its public login asks for email and password. Free registration asks for more: your name, email confirmation, password confirmation, a secret question and answer, reCAPTCHA, and acceptance of terms. Registering opens the provider workflow. It does not promise that every historical Union County document or search field will be there. The registration surface makes that access gate clear before any Union County docket search begins.

PeachCourt says field and document availability varies by court. General help mentions docket access back to around 2005 for many courts, but that is not a Union-specific promise. Ask the Superior Clerk about older cases.
Access distinction: a free account can enable searching, while retrieved documents may carry per-page or convenience charges and certification still comes from the clerk.
Case Search Results Explained
A Union County result row flags a possible case. The detail view can expose the register of actions and available documents. Provider-level PeachCourt help lists possible fields. Those include assigned judge, status, attorneys, co-defendants, charges, disposition and date, calendar events, docket proceedings, and case documents. Availability varies. A status label is only a shortcut. Read the actual order before giving it legal effect.
| Case Number | The court's principal identifier; preserve it exactly. |
|---|---|
| Style / Parties | An abbreviated caption and roles, not proof that a same-named person is the subject. |
| Case Type | Civil, criminal, domestic, estate, guardianship, traffic, warrant, small claim, or ordinance. |
| Filed Date | The date the initiating filing, petition, or citation was entered. |
| Status | An index label such as open, pending, disposed, closed, stayed, dismissed, or transferred. |
| Docket Entry | A chronological filing, motion, order, appearance, setting, or disposition entry. |
| Document Link | An available image or PDF that may involve access charges or exclusions. |
A charge is an allegation, not a conviction. "Disposed" can mean dismissal, plea, judgment, transfer, or another closing event, so confirm the actual disposition document with the court.
Union Probate Uses Another Search
Union County Probate and traffic matters skip the Superior Court route entirely. Georgia Probate Records runs a public traffic search with a Union selector. It offers offender-name fields and paired violation, disposition, and court-date ranges. Its hearing calendar works differently. It uses court, an optional case name, a required hearing date, an optional time, and a Probate or Traffic mode. The county also describes estate records from 2014 forward as available online. Older proceedings may still live in docket books.
| Matter | Starting channel | Useful search key |
|---|---|---|
| Superior civil or criminal | Georgia E-Access to PeachCourt | Case number or party name |
| Probate estate or guardianship | Georgia Probate Records or Probate clerk | Estate name, case number, or date |
| County Probate traffic | Traffic docket search | Offender name or paired date range |
| Blairsville citation | Municipal clerk | Citation number |
A citation written inside Blairsville city limits should not be presumed to show up in the Probate traffic system. For city-specific routing, check the Blairsville court records page.
Two Ways to Search: County and State
Georgia's "statewide" layer is a directory and gateway, not one free anonymous database. It names the participating providers and points Union Superior users to PeachCourt. Local court offices still hold the official files. They also keep certified records, gaps, and anything a provider does not expose. So the fair comparison is provider access versus court custody. It is not statewide completeness versus a separate Union County portal.
| Georgia gateway/provider | Union County court or clerk |
|---|---|
| Routes Union Superior to PeachCourt | Identifies the court that owns the record |
| Account-based case information | In-person, telephone, and official-copy channel |
| Documents may involve charges | Can quote clerk copy or certification fees |
| Availability varies by court | Can address older, missing, or non-indexed files |
Reach Magistrate Court at 706-439-6008, Probate Court at 706-439-6006, and the Superior Clerk at 706-439-6022. Call the office matching the actual case type. One county department cannot answer for them all.
Union Federal Cases Need PACER
Federal matters take a different route. Union County sits in the Gainesville Division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Its federal civil, criminal, and bankruptcy cases therefore live in PACER and the matching CM/ECF court, not PeachCourt. PACER lets you search one court at a time. You can also run a national Case Locator lookup by party name or case number. The published fee schedule bills $0.10 per page. A single case-specific document or report is capped at $3.00, and quarterly bills of $30 or less are waived. CourtListener is a handy place to cross-check federal opinions and docket material. Treat it as a secondary service, though. It may not hold the complete official docket. Confirm anything that matters through PACER itself.

For federal entries and documents, verify through PACER or the federal clerk where the case began. That step matters most when a hearing notice, a sealed flag, or a current deadline is on the line.
Union County No-Result Searches
A blank result is not the last word. Plenty of innocent causes hide behind it. The search may have hit the wrong court, a name variation, or an incomplete date pair. A newly filed record still awaiting indexing, an older paper file, a portal limit, or a restricted case can all come back empty too. One more quirk: probate traffic validation needs both dates in a range and rejects any start date later than the end date.
- Recheck the court name and identifier on the source document.
- Try the exact case number rather than broad name matching.
- Confirm that Union county and the correct court were selected separately.
- Use the appropriate Probate, municipal, federal, or clerk channel instead of repeating a Superior search.
- Ask the clerk whether the case is older, transferred, restricted, sealed, or not yet indexed.
Note: Never treat “no result” as an identity clearance or as a conclusion about a person's history.
Which Cases Stay Restricted
Georgia presumes public access, but that does not put every filing or identifier on display. Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 permits access limits through specified procedures. Rule 21.6 covers protected identifiers. Juvenile information follows its own confidentiality rules. Expect sealed materials to be missing or redacted. Protected personal data and targeted judicial personal-information restrictions go too. Record restriction under O.C.G.A. §35-3-37 governs criminal-history dissemination; it does not automatically delete every local court file.
Never copy out Social Security numbers, financial-account numbers, full birthdates, tax identifiers, or identifiers of minors. If access demands a motion, a court order, party credentials, or an authorized juvenile channel, a plain public search cannot get around it. Ask the clerk about the lawful request process. Alternate name spellings and third-party people-search services are not the answer.
Need a full document behind a public docket entry? Take the Union County court case records route. Ask the clerk whether a plain or certified copy fits your needs.
